Alexis practices Acupuncture Physical Medicine (APM) as well as Sports-Based Acupuncture. APM is a modern approach to acupuncture that combines classics-based meridian acupuncture with Western physical medicine techniques. One of these techniques is known as trigger point needling where muscles are actually released with a needle. Sports-based acupuncture is geared more towards high-performance athletes focusing on enhancing the strength and mobility of muscles. Both styles are highly effective in treating chronic pain and injury or an acute muscular issue.
In addition, Alexis’ studies are also based in Classical Chinese Medicine-which focuses on the meridians of the body and pulse and tongue diagnosis. Throughout school, she mentored with one of her teachers in Classical Chinese Medicine extensively studying pulse diagnosis and treatment principles. These principles work with the whole body to connect and balance whether it be for fertility, sleep, stress or anxiety.
